Frequently asked questions

How does CardLens score a credit card?

Each score out of 100 combines your net savings rate (55%), usable lounge access (15%), redemption flexibility (10%), lifestyle fit (10%), simplicity (5%) and fee safety (5%). Components you say you do not need are dropped and their weight redistributed, so weights always total 100%. See the methodology.

What is “effective savings rate”?

Annual net savings (rewards at realistic redemption value + milestones + surcharge waivers − renewal fee incl. GST − forex markup) divided by your total annual card spend, × 100. First-year welcome offers and joining fees are shown separately.

Do you count UPI spends?

Once. The share of everyday spend you route through UPI QR is counted only on RuPay cards linked to UPI, at that card’s UPI rate and cap. On other cards it is left out of card spend entirely.
